Configuring OneDrive for Business/Office 365 for Qwickly

In order to integrate OneDrive for Business/Office 365 with Qwickly tools, you'll need to register Qwickly with Azure Active Directory.  Specifically, you'll need the "tenant" and "client ID".  Below, we'll show you how to get the "client ID" needed.

Step 1: Register Qwickly with your Azure Active Directory tenant

  1. Sign in to the Azure management portal.
  2. Click Active Directory in the left hand nav.
  3. Click the directory tenant where you wish to register the sample application.
  4. Select the Applications tab.
  5. In the drawer, click Add.
  6. Click Add an application my organization is developing.
  7. Enter a friendly name for the application, we recommend "Qwickly for Blackboard", select Web Application and/or Web API, and click the arrow to continue.
  8. For the sign-on URL, enter the base URL for your Blackboard instance. For example:
  9. For the App ID URI, enter the same URL as step 8. For example:
  10. Next, click the Configure tab near the top of the portal.
  11. Scroll down to the permissions to other applications section and click Add application.
  12. Choose Office 365 SharePoint Online and then click the check mark icon.
  13. Choose the Delegated Permissions column for Office 365 SharePoint Online, and check Read users' files.
  14. Click Save in the bottom tray.

Before moving on to the next step, you need to find the Client ID of your application.

  1. While still in the Azure portal, click the Configure tab of your application.
  2. Find the Client ID value and copy and paste it somewhere for later reference.  You will need to paste this value into the Qwickly settings.

Step 2: Enable the OAuth2 implicit grant for your application

By default, applications provisioned in Azure AD are not enabled to use the OAuth2 implicit grant. In order to for Qwickly to access the needed information, you need to explicitly opt in.

  1. In the Azure Management Portal, select the Configure tab for your application’s entry.
  2. Use the Manage Manifest button in the drawer to download the manifest file for the application and save it to your computer.
  3. Open the manifest file with a text editor. Search for the oauth2AllowImplicitFlow property. You will find that it is set to false; change it to true and save the file.
  4. Use the Manage Manifest button to upload the updated manifest file and then click Save to save the app configuration.

Step 3: Configure Qwickly to use your Azure Active Directory tenant and client id.

  1. Log into as a System Admin to Blackboard and visit the System Admin tab.
  2. Find Qwickly Settings.
  3. On the Support Tab of Qwickly Settings, find the One Drive for Business section.  Enter your tenant in the OFB Tenant field and your client id in  the OFB Client ID field.  Click save.
