The Course Management role selector now appears in Qwickly Course Tools Settings. Ideally, it should be viewed when logged in to an LMS with an administrator role. The role selector allows admins the ability to restrict showing the Course Management tool by using roles. This shows system role and course role selectors in Blackboard or the course role only in D2L and Canvas. Testing information is also presented at the bottom of this article.
In Blackboard: There is a system role and a course role selector. Both can be set but a user only has to satisfy one of these role requirements to see Course Management. For example, if a user is enrolled in a course with a course builder role but does not have a required system role, they can still see Course Management.
In Canvas: Only the course role list selector is presented. All admins and users with an account role can view Course Management regardless of course enrollment.
In D2L: Only a course role list selector is presented. A user must be enrolled in a course with a selected role to see Course Management.
If not logged in as an admin, a warning should appear for the system role selector. Functionality of the selectors depends on the user's LMS entitlements:
The user must either have a selected system role or be enrolled in at least one course with a selected course role in order to see Course Management.
Here the user can not see Course Management:
Example of system role only satisfied but no course enrollments:
