Existing clients who are using Absence Limits will need to make a Settings update to the www.qwickly.tools dashboard settings under Manage Attendance.
Launch this article to see all the features and settings in detail.
Why the change?
Several features have been requested, and this update provides all clients the ability to have up to three Absence Limits, along with a custom dashboard and email engine for managing Absence Limits at the course level.
Instructor facing changes:
- A new tab called Absence Limits will appear in a course's Qwickly Attendance Settings. Once Absence Limits have been enabled, this will hold the existing Absence Limit and other features (email templates for each limit if enabled).
- A new dashboard called "Emails" has been created and it appears on the left-hand navigation menu. This dashboard shows the Absence Limit emails that have been sent, and it also allows instructors to send these emails if the administrator selects them.
Clients using Absence Limits prior to August 1, 2023, should complete the following steps:
- Enable Absence Limits via www.qwickly.tools > Manage Attendance > Settings > Attendance Tab
- Label your existing limits
- If you are using just two limits, label the limits to match your preferences or institutional wording. The original labels were "Warning" and "Final".
- Explore the other features (see article) including email, the instructor email dashboard, and reporting. View the Settings via www.qwickly.tools > Manage Attendance > Settings > Attendance Tab
- Data feeds, reports, favorited reports, and uploader should not have been impacted and should function normally.
Background: We recently created several enhancements that:
- Increase the number of absence limits from two to three
- Allow for custom labels of the limits
- Allows for custom emails to be sent for each limit reached (or manual sending)
- Creates an instructor dashboard
- Updates reporting
