Note: This feature is available with a license of Qwickly Attendance Plus and Qwickly Attendance Pro
Concurrent Check In allows instructors to run Check In Mode concurrently for multiple sections or multiple groups at once.
How to turn this feature on for the Institution?
To turn this feature on, administrators will need to go to the Qwickly Dashboard > Manage Attendance > Settings > Modes > Check In > Enable Concurrent Check In
Note: This feature is not currently compatible with "Enable Check Out Mode"
How to turn this feature on for a course?
Once enabled at the administrative level, an instructor will also need to enable the feature within their settings.
The instructor can go to their course > open Qwickly Attendance > open Settings > Concurrent Check In
Note: This feature will be disabled if "Student Grouping" setting is set as "Single List".
How this feature works?
When ready to take concurrent Check In attendance, the instructor can open Qwickly Attendance, then navigate to the Check In page. Based on their selected Student grouping, the Instructor would be able to select one or more groups or sections to begin their concurrent check in.
Note: These example screenshots will show Concurrent Check in by Sections
When an instructor selects their groups/sections for which they wish to start Check In, they can press "Start Check In"
When the Check In is started, the Instructors will be shown the Live Check In page with "Running" states shown for the groups/sections they started the check in with.
Instructors can choose to start check in for a group/section which is not running by clicking on the Start button. This should change the status from "Not Started" to "Running"
Instructors can also choose to Stop a running session. This will update it's status to show when it was stopped.
Instructors can also Restart a stopped session and get it running again.
When the instructor is ready to close the check in session, they can click "End Check In". They will be prompted to confirm that they want to end check in for all groups/sections before they can proceed.
Once the "End Check In" button is clicked, Qwickly Attendance will take a moment to process all of the check in data and separate them into different sessions.
In this example, check in was started for 3 different sections and no students were able to successfully check in. In the "Records" page, the instructor would see three different columns (one for each group/section) with the students' Attendance data recorded within it.
Further Notes
- This feature is not currently compatible with Large Course Mode
- Known Bug: If Concurrent Check In is used through the Qwickly App, students may be shown an open check in session even if their group or section has not been opened for Check In by the Instructor.
