Qwickly Attendance’s Check In mode will now perform pre-checks at the start of a session and at the closing of Concurrent Check in sessions.
(A) When opening a new (regular, non-concurrent) Check In session, the tool will do a pre-check to see if there is a Check In session which already exists
When “Start Check In” is selected by Instructor A, a precheck happens to see if a live session exists. If no live session exists, the page will re-render with the active check in screen for Instructor A.
If Instructor B has clicked “Start Check In” and the precheck detects an active session, they will be displayed a message that an active session exists and prompts them to “Join Active Session”. Clicking this refreshes the page at which point they should be sent to the active Check In Page
If Instructor C has had their Attendance window open but has taken no action for a few minutes, the tool should be checking the server every 10 seconds to see if an active session exists. So, this instructor should also be shown the message above which tells them that an active session already exists and should prompt them to join this session.
(B) When opening a new Concurrent Check In session, the tool will do a pre-check to see if there is a Check In session which already exists. Furthermore if a session already exists but the current user had selected a group/section to start, this group/section would also be in active check in state
When “Start Check In” is selected by Instructor A, a precheck happens to see if a live session exists. If no live session exists, the page will re-render with the active check in screen for Instructor A with the concurrent check in groups/sections they have selected.
For Instructor B (who may have selected a different subset of groups/sections), the tool will perform the precheck and let them know that a Check In has already started.
This action will also start the check in for the remaining groups/sections marked to be started by Instructor B
(C) When a live Concurrent Check In is running, the interface will refresh every 10 seconds and update the list of groups. If one instructor has changed the status of a group, the other instructors should see the changes reflected on their screen every 10 seconds. If an instructor closes the entire session, the tool will also detect this and display a message saying the session is over
(D) Completely closing/deleting a Concurrent Check In session will display message to Instructors that the session is over if the Instructor attempts to change any groups/sections states
